This 4 session series, led by Gail Ann Winkler, will explore the use of Viniyoga principles to help you develop a yoga practice that is beneficial and satisfying. Sessions will address low back discomfort, hip and shoulder tension and stress management.
The essence of Viniyoga is a practice that, through posture adaptation, respects and adjusts to the individual. The postures adaptation process accounts for differences in an individual’s gender, age, aspiration, experience, time and activities. A Viniyoga practice guides the practitioner, through increased self-awareness, to asana that maximize their benefit to the individual. These benefits may be for the body through posture, for the spirit through calming or energizing breathwork, or for the mind through rest or meditation. Often the benefits are a personalized combination of the three.
