Shirodhara

A therapeutic Ayurvedic treatment that is known for its deeply relaxing and rejuvenating effects on the mind and body. One of the top benefits is the reduction of high levels of mental stress. It induces calmness, promotes tranquility, and facilitates relaxation. It is a gentle, yet effective service that is unlike any other.

Shirodhara is a form of treatment in which warm, herbalized Ayurvedic oil is poured onto your forehead at the space of the “third eye” Chakra. This activates and massages this area, as well as the scalp. Initially, the herbal oil is streamed in patterns from the right to left temple. After several minutes, the stream is set to the middle of the forehead where it flows continuously for the duration of the treatment.

Benefits of Shirodhara

This Ayurvedic therapy brings down the elevated serotonin levels, a neurotransmitter that stabilizes our mood, feelings of well-being, and happiness. The steady pour of warm oil encourages the Parasympathetic Nervous System to activate, that part of the nervous system which conserves energy, slows heart rate, and relaxes muscles which in turn lowers the stress hormones. These benefits can last for several days after treatment. Among these benefits you may also experience:

Tension & stress reduction

Decreased anxiety & depression

Third Eye stimulation

Reduced mental fatigue

Mental & brain clarity

Improved sleep

Balancing of Vata, Pitta & Kapha

Headache relief

Detoxification

Spiritual connection
